Tea party to host GOP gun advocate

State Rep. Daryl D. Metcalfe, R-Cranberry Township, will be the featured speaker Wednesday at a town hall meeting on a bill he authored designed to nullify any federal laws to register, restrict or ban a firearm or to limit the size of a magazine or firearm in Pennsylvania.

The Williamsport Tea Party is sponsoring the event at 7 p.m. at the Genetti Hotel grand ballroom.

Also present will be state Rep. Garth Everett, R-Muncy, a co-sponsor of House Bill 357, known as the Right to Bear Arms Protection Act.

I'm going to try to make it, wish I knew a little earlier. Do you have to register or anything or just show up? Never been in the Genetti before, what about carrying? I was on the Capitol steps on that frigid day when Metcalfe introduced the bill and I'd like to continue to show my support.

I emailed Metcalfe about firearms and he has not responded yet if I hear back from him before the meeting I will post something here. I think they ask you to go to the facebook page and add your name to the coming list but I don't think it is a requirement.
