Thanks for all the comments, everyone! It's always so humbling and honoring to have someone reach out to you and ask you for your opinion, and having the chance to talk on that level is awesome. :D
Lately it's been nothing but positivity. Young kids get excited when they see me carrying - at the ice cream store with the family the other day, a boy, no older than 6, exclaimed to his dad, "THAT GUY HAS A GUN!" He was smiling, and waved at me when I greeted him. He was the second young boy to point it out, the first being at Toys R Us a few weeks back. His mom told him she wasn't a fan of guns, and a little bit later an employee came over to notify me that they have a policy against people carrying firearms, but the two were unrelated (I saw the guy who brought it up with them near the vestibule), and she technically never asked me to leave, so we just finished our shopping.
My ex-boss asked me to take him to the range for his first ever shooting trip, which was awesome. Watching him go from being all over the place, to hitting the bullseye here and there, was fantastic.
You are a southpaw too?
Even cooler now
Yes, but finding left handed holsters can be a bitch.
Here's the shirt I got from a friend recently...

I must admit that I love the double-takes it gets. An older woman in line at the grocery store made a point to look me in the eye and say, "ban assault weapons" in a poignant way, and with a scowl. Another guy gave me a thumbs up and said, "nice!" before I asked him if he actually read the shirt, and he stopped, looked closer, then gave me another thumbs up - but this time, his smile was frozen on his face, all hints of cheerfulness gone from his grin, as if it took every ounce of strength he had to maintain the visage.
