So...Christopher C. Shellhammer went to the victim's home and shot him there, while the victim's "fiancee"/likely meth addict was there with their 3 kids?

Guilty..
He armed himself, went to another person's home, entered it, killed the occupant - that was premeditated.
This wasn't a robbery on the streets where a licensee or open-carrier defended himself. The perp went to the victim and killed him.

The putting on of pants - premeditated.

I sent gunlawyer the background information (the full context the media left out) about the incident via e-mail. The "news" account omitted many pertinent and important details.
Imagine that, mainstream "news" media leaving out important details about an incident.
The decedent -- Michael Shane Henrick -- had a record for shoplifting, domestic battery (i.e., physical violence), and heroin distribution.

That's quite a different picture than the picture of the doting father that the KDKA report painted, don't you think?
Shellhammer was attacked and sustained serious injuries in the incident for which he was treated after he went directly to the police station to report the incident. This puts the lie to the police/media account that Shellhammer merely walked in and opened fire. If that were that case, Shellhammer would not have sustained any injuries whatsoever.

What the "news" media did not tell you was that Shellhammer -- a licensed concealed carrier with no former criminal record -- was invited to the home via text message, entered in, that Henrick appeared, that a two-against-one fight broke out after Kelly French slapped Shellhammer and Michael Shane Henrick joined in, that Shellhammer sustained serious injuries as a result, and that, only then, the shooting took place.

Why was he invited? Wonder what prompted the slap? Three sides to every story.

That and, was the force upon Shellhammer of the level that was immediate risk of death or serious bodily injury? If not, he had a duty to flee, especially since he was in the "victim's" home.
From all news reports I was able to find, whether or not certain info was left out, it is very easy to paint him guilty.
And even with the now info of him being attacked, he could still be guilty if the acts upon Shellhammer were not sufficient to warrant deadly force.
What will likely determine things is whether or not Shellhammer was in deed attacked, whether or not there was disparity of force, and whether or not the force employed upon Shellhammer created justification.
Then factor in, if Shellhammer was invited, what was the pretext of the invitation? Was it for a mere social visit? Was it to buy drugs? Was it for some other legal or illegal act? That could play a part as well.

Regardless of the circumstances, I take issue with the ADA's statements from the OP. Given that both statements are prejudicial (at best) and contrary to law, they should not be allowed in court.
