Ridge and Valley Rod & Gun Club Question

Hi all,

Recently moved to Quakertown. Discovered Ridge and Valley is 10 minutes away.

I saw that sponsorship is a membership requirement. Question for any existing members... Is it acceptable to simply turn up to a general meeting at the club in an attempt to find a sponsor or would this be frowned upon? I don't really know anyone in Quakertown yet and certainly don't know anyone whom is a member.
