Anyone familiar with any of the shops in that area and could recommend? Heading there for breakfast on Tuesday with another forum member and it's out of both of our familiar zones, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

the sportsman shop is about 10 minutes away in new Holland and kerpers is 15 minutes the other direction in bowmansville
You may or may not want to attend the Shady Maple. Seems they have been cited for a few things recently. Including live roaches.
Not to mention it's over priced crap food.
I hope you are not making an epic journey for just the Shady Maple. Shady Maple ain't that special. Just a large breakfast buffet; average food. Don't get excited by the Shady Maple hype. You'd have a better meal at a well-maintained Perkins.
If you must be in the general area, Gap PA is 12 miles south of Shady Maple & has Village Arms, an O.K. small shop.
The family-owned Shady Maple Smorgasbord served nearly 1.4 million meals to (I guess dumb) guests in 2013. We are some of them. A search of Shady Maple discloses no health-interest reports as alleged.
No, just a couple of guys with the week off. Both looking to add something to the gun safe and like to visit gun shops out of our normal areas in hopes of finding that one real gem. A way to spend a day. A quick search revealed 27 ffl dealers within 10 miles of that place. Won't be able to visit that many shops so I figured I'd ask the people who do business in that area regularly. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll put it on the list of places we'll stop by.
I enjoyed Shady Maple the one time I went. I live 15 minutes away lol. The mall is cool too with all the different items. My vote is Kerpers but The Sportsmanshop probably has more selection. Well, it does hands down but the prices are high. Mussels Outdoors in Ephrata would be worth checking out too. Village Arms was mentioned. Nothing else comes to mind. Oh DNA Weaponry in Lititz with the adjoining cop shop.
November 2014 inspection/December report (live roaches):

Well, the roaches were alive. If things were really bad, wouldn't the roaches be sick or dead?
Ahh, Shady Maple. Massive quanties of mediocre food. Always a fun time.
