Do you have an animal shelter available?
People always complain that they have to pay for an animal from a shelter, but I can assure you that "free" pets can be much more costly - IF you are a decent pet owner who gets the pet the medical care it requires/needs.
Many of the initial vaccines as well as spay/neuter are already done and included in the "out the door price" or a shelter animal - things you will need to pay more for by taking a "free" cat to the vet for it's first shots and exam.
Good luck. We've had 4 orange tabbies over the years.
Our last remaining cat will be 21 years old in April. Cats are a long-term investment. :)
We have been consistently trying the local animal shelters for a particular kitten,We have two cats which one passed after 14 years, the other is very social and we and the other cat would welcome a brand new addition to our home. Our pets get better health care than we do some say, lol. MDT
Have you searched the web? There are a number of pet locators on it.
Kraus, who lives across the street from me owns a duplex. He lives in the bottom unit and the top unit is where he keeps all his cats...they have full run of the apartment. He loves them all but he gives them away to good homes, few months ago he gave me a nice mouser and with all that he has I'm sure he'll have one to your liking.
If you have not already checked there, AWSOM always has a lot of cats. Would also try Camp Papillon and Creature Comfots. There was another shelter, something like animals are our friends(?) around Eastburg. One of the staff at AWSOM told me about when we found an injured kitten in the impound yard but they were not able to take it.
Dessin animal shelter in Honesdale, maybe.
