FN Herstal FNP 40, I have the FNP 9 and I like it much better than XD's or Glocks I have shot. The Taurus's are also nice, have a PT111 and PT745C and am happy.

Don't have any info to add on your original choices but I feel this would be a worthy contender ---> http://eaacorp.com/handguns-witness-...scription.html

PM me if you want to try one.

The Glock and the XD both have a very similar feel to them in my opinion, which is maybe why you've lost interest in both. The squarish design, the angles, the controls, etcetera.

I started out in a similar position as you. I'd shot a number of guns, including a Glock and an XD, but neither of them felt right to me. I kept finding myself gravitating back towards the Beretta 92, for whatever reason, but I wanted something a little different. Something a little smaller and lighter, something a little more modern, something with a polymer frame.

I eventually discovered the Beretta Px4, and decided that it would become the first gun that I would own. I had never had the opportunity to so much as touch one before buying, but I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted and the Px4 fit. I already knew I liked the shape of Berettas through my experience with the 92F, I knew I liked the placement and operation of the controls, and the Px4 was essentially exactly that with the differences that I wanted. So I bought it.

I wasn't disappointed by my decision at all.

I know it's not on your list, but I definitely suggest you consider it. It sounds like what you want might be similar to what I was looking for when I made my decision.

I hate the glocks grip. I love my xd tho. I think your best bet may be one of the new beretta cx seriers or the M&P from S&W

HK P2000 & USP's are polymer framed. Both are excellent pistols.
