Default M&P vs Glock 17 or 19

Looking for a pistol for the betterhalf. Pretty much have it narrowed down to one of these two. (Well at least till she gets to the gun shop and starts picking pistols up).

So, between these two, or any other pistol that you may thing ranks better. Let me hear what you think of these two.

I'm not trying to start a flame warm. Give me some good info. Support your claims if you can. I want to find the pistol that will keep her interested in shooting.

the M&P has the changeable backstraps so you mightbeable to make the grip a tad smaller for her if she needs it, and bigger when you shoot.. besides that its just what feels better in your hand they are both pretty proven guns i'd doubt you'll run into any problems with either.

...on the other hand, the glock has the proven track record and far better trigger.

I would have to say try and rent the guns and shoot them see what feels the best, you have to be comfortable and confident with the gun you plan to have and use.
I have the MP 40 and have had zero problems, I like to feel and that I can change the back strpas to fit my hand, also SW has the warranty if you ever need it.
I for personal reasons do not like glocks. Please am not picking any arguements, sorry just my preference.
But like I said try a couple pistols first and see what you like the best.

I think the glock 9mm's are great pistols for a novice shooter but I am really warming up to the M&P. It is definitely sized better for smaller hands.

I wrote a mini review here http://www.fireinstitute.org/fire_s&w_m&p.html.

Beretta PX4, you won't find a easier gun to field strip IMO. But there seems to be a huge disdain for Beretta's around here...hopefully I wont get stoned to death lol. But I love my px4 in .40, the rotating barrel lockup is a soft shooter for her also in 9mm or .40. I would take a px4 over a Glock any day of the week. Plus it looks better...uh oh...I see the rocks coming!

Come on out to the group shoot on Sunday (8/12). I know that there will be several M&P's there. There will be at least 20 Glocks there. I own neither, but these shoots are all about trying other peopl'e guns. Make up your own mind.

Everyone has opinions and, in the end, it's yours that counts.

Better half and I will be in N.Y. during the next shoot. Or we both would be there. Hopefully she will have a new pistol to bring with her the next time everyone meets.

Gee... a choice between my two least favorite triggers...

Triggers asside, I prefer the fit and feel of the Smith.
