Doesn't take much to justify the gas for that trip from Philly, and their prices are fair.
Second that, good place, bought my first gun there.

Drop me a PM Alec when you have the time to shoot at Classic pistol in Southampton. I would gladly share some of my pistols with you so you can broaden your horizons.

I went in there once and all they had was like a hipoint pistol, nobody at the counter, and 2 bone heads in the waiting area. Not worth the gas.

However, this is also delaware valley sports center. Apparently this place used to be a dump and it has been cleaned up with new ownership.

I must say though, my personal experience with that shop has been way below satisfactory, and others have reported the same on this forum.

Be that as it may, they are still in business, so some people must be happy with their service.

All good stuff so far. I would only point out that different places have different "perks" for lack of a better term.

In addition to the price of the gun ask about free range time and what they charge for their background check. You'll find big differences.

I have a Kel-Tec P11 for everyday carry and have no complaints. Reliable (over 500 rounds down the pipe so far) small enough to carry all day and very affordable. Excellent factory support too. As you know it ain't pretty but it is a real workhorse. I just got the belt clip today and can't wait to see how it feels. I'd like to eliminate the holster.

I'd also recommend French Creek in Phoenixville but you said near NE Philly...

Hey, get the wife out to the range sometime. Maybe she'll get the bug too!

I'll be another voice for Insite. Get off a tTrooper on 422 and head a few lights, turn right and its there on the left about a half mile down. Great folks nice selection and some good prices. Even their used stuff works and looks incredible. And coupons!

I have read every post here, And I agree with a couple,
From the great northeast you would be wise to make a small trip from where you are.
Start at G&G in Bensalem area, They have some great deals from time to time. Then hit Abington Gun sports in willow grove, Then north on 611 to claytons sports shop, Then just jump over to york rd and head up to
Tanners, ( Jamison pa)They have some real good deals most of the time, Then over to Quinby's in Dublin,, Good guys there, Lots of fun old rifles upstairs and if you really want to see some interesting all around good prices go visit John at Senica arms in green lane,
Or you can tag along with me sometime.
Peter

Don't forget, Philly now has an 8% sales tax. I just saved 50 bucks getting a gun sent from out of state instead of paying PA and Philly sales tax. 2% extra in Philly compared to the rest of the state is a real turn off, especially when prices for guns and ammo are higher in the city anyway. Going outside the city to get your gun would probably be well worth the gas money, time and effort.

Ask on the forums somewhere if anyone's seen the gun you want at a store outside of Philly. People are VERY helpful here. You could also just call around and ask if different shops have what you're looking for, and for how much, and shop around. I'd venture a guess that you can save almost 50 bucks (or get a gun that costs $50 more while staying under-budget) by shopping around outside of Philadelphia.
