I wondered the same. If he cleaned it with water he's a fool, and if he used something oil based it's a wonder he didn't burn the oven or the whole building.

Guns can be cleaned using soap and water as long as one is sure to dry it right away and lube it. On several occasions in the army after coming in from the field, we'd take all the crew-served weapons into the bathroom and clean the large parts in the shower and the small parts in the sink using laundry detergent and scalding hot water.... Of course, we never saw the need to do that to a pistol, as they can be easily cleaned with a rag, brush, and oil.

Yep , and that would not have happened with a steel revolver .

Someone evidently didn't get the memo that "polymer" is a fancy pants word for "plastic".

Which melts in ovens.

I'm sure weapons grade polymers are tough. But 400*? Who on earth dries a gun at 400*? That's excessive even on a metal weapon. Even if you were trying to bake layers of oil on. You don't do 400*F you do like 150-200*F. Or as low as your oven turns on. And even then... you only need about 5-8 minutes. 400* will burn off any oils you were trying to dry anyway.

Guy's definitely an idiot.

Crappy Sigs.

If it were a Glock it would've lasted all day on broil and still be wet......
