I am not a big fan of Aluminum framed bushingless 1911's... Just my personal preference. My Shop Foreman just bought a Pro Carry, and he likes it. I also OC, so Concealability is not a factor in my choice.

Dont listen to him, he dont know of which he speaks, hahahahaha , at any rate if you are happy with a Kimber then go with the steel fram stay away from aluminum unless you are going to IWB and not oc. as mister fingers alluded to. I'm not the Biggest fan of kimbers but if i had to buy one again, it would be the S I S model without a rail.

The Kimber Pro Carry II was my primary carry weapon for a long time. Extremely accurate, light weight, reliable and was not picky about the ammo I fed it. I never had a malfunction in thousands of rounds sent downrange. I prefer the 4" barrel length for concealed carry. Of the 1911's I've owned and shot, the Pro Carry II is my favorite by far.

Pro CarryII is a great pistol. Mine is a 9mm with all the MIM parts replaced, and some cosmetics. Accurate and reliable, and a joy to shoot.

I'm sure people will chime in with how great their Kimber is, but I've sent more back than I can remember, and watched them choke over, and over, and over. Take a look at m1911.org's Kimber forum....the first page is almost always dedicated to threads about Kimbers not running. Honestly, if you want a 1911 that is worth trusting your life to... I would suggest reading up on 10-8forums, and m4c...where users who carry 1911's into harms way share their experience. You'll see the SA MC Operator, SA Professional, and WC CQB as popular choices amongst discerning shooters. The SA Loaded is often a good starting point, if you feel the MC Operator is too steep. Keep in mind, you see all kinds of people raving about their Taurus's and Kel-Tec's, at times. My advice? Research your options thoroughly.
