Default Looking to buy a handcannon

My current arsenal of handguns is woefully devoid of revolvers, so I'm looking to get a nice hand cannon to round out the collect a bit. I've decided I want something in .44 mag, since my dad already reloads .44 mag for his Ruger 77/44.

I think I've narrowed it down to either a S&W 629 or a Ruger Super Redhawk, but I'm open to suggestions.

I'm partial to my 7 1/2" Redhawk. I only put new (different) grips on it to better fit my hand and dampen the recoil of the mag loads. That said, I have also owned a Model 29 and was happy with it also (sold it to buy another hand cannon - a TC in 7-30 Waters). I like the strength (and the looks) of the Redhawk.

Raging Bull .44 mag!

I bought mine mostly because of looks and value...(do I have to post the pic again!)

Second choice would be a Colt Anaconda.

I agree, XD...why does Taurus have to blaze their logos all over the gun? That is the only thing I don't like about my RB and the PT1911...

I did see a PT1911 that someone refinished and took the logo's off! It looked awesome! Totally stealth...I'll see if I can find the pics.

I'm a fan of the Ruger’s Super Redhawk Alaskan .454 Casull or something in .460 magnum. The .460 magnum allows you to carry obviously the .460 magnum as well as the .454 Casull and .45 Colt all in the same wheel gun.

one thing to keep in mind, .44mag is pretty much at the low end of todays hand cannons, if its on the scale at all. Not trying to steer you away from the .44mag its a great cartridge, but if you want a handcannon look at a 460, or 500... I'd recommend the 460 just because you can shoot 460, 454casul, and 45 colt.. but if u want a real hand cannon give in and buy the 500. i'm meeting a guy at the range wed. to shoot a 500 and if i like it i'm gonna go head straight to buy one. you know when your alive when you shoot it thats for sure, you feel it deep in your bones
