It is the same pistol as the Beretta Cougar. I shot one a few months ago and liked what it offered for the money. I personally wouldn't buy one, but the price was right.

Beretta actually sold all the tooling eqiptment to stoeger...so its a replica, just has the stoeger name on it and a lower cost, no one has yet to say anything negitive about it over at the Beretta froum.

I read a review about the cougar several months ago in Guns and Ammo. They only tested the 9mm version, but it was pretty accurate from what I read.

I still think and have said before that these are the best bang for the buck out there today. jkroner659 is correct. These are the exact same gun made on the exact same tooling that Beretta was selling for double the price not too many years ago.

One of my best friends has one and it is as smooth and accurate as any of my Berettas. I just need to get around to buying one for myself.

Oh yeah, F&@K the Beretta forum

A Beretta Cougar .40 was maybe the sweetest shooting semi I've ever shot. If the Turks have decent quality control it's probably a good deal.

I've heard the Turks make a good gun, but I have a mental block against anything other than American or European metalurgy. If I bought a Cougar, I get the original.
