At the price point of the two you mentioned, I dont think you can beat a SA Loaded. It's got everything you really want in a 1911 and no BS. They run and run, have a fine warranty and retrofitting is a cinch.

Two things you didnt mention, but might want to consider...

If youre a Glock guy, dont discard the Glock 30. For some bizarre and unquantifiable reason, it is the most accurate and best shooting of all the glocks. It's a plump, double stacker, but this aids in reducing felt recoil through the short bbl., tremendously. I do NOT like Glocks, but I've never met a 30 that gave me anything but fun.

Also consider, the best "bang for bucks" in the 1911 platform is definitely a Les Baer Custom. These guns are tanks! As well made as anything on the market and are notoriously accurate, reliable and will last you a life time. They literally come functionally perfect, out of the box and require no upgrading or work. Price point 1911s almost always require at least some trigger work, but Baers have the best out of the box triggers I've ever felt.

"Shut up, too pricey!" You say? Try calling my friend John at Pro Load Distributors (208)772-2339. For a couple hundred more than you'd pay for a Springer, you can have the BOMB!

Just food for thought.

I have a Kimber Custom TLE II which i purchased last March. It is very reliable (no malfunctions of any kind) and extremely accurate. Take a look at Kimber. I don't think you will be disappointed.

What about a glock 36 if you are pro glock, and want a single stack 45.

Take a good look at the Springfield Armory line. You don't have to go all the way to the top of the line, but pick one with good usable sights and maybe a flared and enlarged ejection port.

Take a look around for the used market for Colt Series 70 pistol also. You'll hate the Series 80 triggers!

I was looking at this gun at one point. I think it's really beautiful.

I am relatively new to .45 shooting, but I am very pleased with my Sig P220. I have read that there have been 10,000 round torture tests on this gun.

Love my Taurus PT1911. However, I bought a RIA from a forum member and it's a plain jane GI 45 and shoots great and didn't cost much.

Are those PT1911's as sweet as they look on paper? Seems to be an absolute ton of gun for the money.
