Default Went to the range today...

Took my brand new Kimber Ultra CDP for the first time to Targetmaster. I shot 100 rounds with no problems at all. I used the Kimber mags and Federal ammo. My 5' tall 110 lb. girlfriend shot the pistol also with no problems...she may be a better shot than me...I seem to pull down and left. Well so far so good! Shot some good groups from 6 and 7 yards for her never shooting a pistol and I having not shot one in about 10 years.
mine (21 shots):

Hers (21 shots):

I don't know the load specs on what I was shooting. It was a target round that I had bought to use at the range. I used the two boxes I bought and threw them away. I'll try something different next time but as you can see, she was just fine.

.I doubt it was the ammo.

My wife who has been listening to my coaching is a better shot with her 45 than I am with mine. Until November, she had never fired a handgun before. I started her with the basics, correct sight picture, breathing and trigger control. She was listening to me but I was not. I know how to shoot a pistol.

I took a long break from shooting handguns and was so terrible with new guns that I had to take it back to the basics. Practice breathing and trigger control. No more that 5 rounds per target and evaluate each shot before firing the next.

With my trusted 22 pistol I can still fire instinctually. With my new 45 if I go slow, I am down to 8 inch groups. From the holes that I have overlapped, I know the pistol is way better than me. Apparently, firing a pistol isn’t like riding a bike.

Take your time, it will come back
