Beautiful pistol, now you need to learn French to speak to it, or at least some Dutch or German…
Distant cousin to the Browning Hi Power and more recently to the CZ, these are solid guns, and you will see many years of enjoyment out of it. Nice find! Un beau cadeau pour Noel.

That's a real piece of history you have there. It's a beautiful piece despite it coming out of one of the darkest times in world history.

It is a P35 produced by FN. This one was produced for the Germans by FN. After the war it was marketed commercially as the Browning Hi-Power albeit produced by FN.
Same pistol. Jeff

I hear the WWII era P35s were very unreliable and frequently KBed. They were known to be more deadly to the user than the shooter, basically the Carcano of pistols. You'd better sell it immediatly, very cheap. Send me a PM and we'll talk.

Nice piece. I have one too although I can not verify the date of mfg.
Do not shoot it as is. First all the springs may be weak and may need to be replaced. I bought another barrel for mine to use the gun as a shooter. I damaged my original barrel with a squib round at a PAFOA shoot. I almost cried. |

Do LDA 1911's have the same peculiar 'finickiness' as traditional 1911's???
