Default Smith & Wesson M25-2 .45ACP

I found a Model 25 today in near perfect condition - 6 inch bbl. blue. How available are they in the market and about what is the going selling price.

I will probably buy it anyway - just wanted to know if it is a good buy or am I paying too much. Sometimes I am a pushover for firearms that are beautiful, no longer in production and in near new condition.

It is also chanbered in one of my favorite cartridges.

I have found them from time to time in both .45acp and .45LC.

They are not that rare...but still bring a good "S&W price".

I don't remember the last nice one I saw go for less than $450, with most going closer to $600.

Limited editions much more of course.

Wants $550.00 and won't back off and it is SOOOOO beautiful. Dealer friend of mine bought it from someone that had it and a M29. He already sold the 29.

That's right in the ballpark then.

So ya gotta ask yerself one question...

"do ya want it? Well, do ya?"

Oh yeah, Dirty Harry carried the M29....close enuff.

I'd give you real advise based on many factors....but I know how I am around "good deals" with my beloved Colt's. I would be cleaning it right now.

this is my 25-2,,, its a 2 3/4" bbl.. tuned action, ball/detent lockup. and the works,,, it was a Jovino Conversion done in the early 80's... it was called "THE EFFECTOR" they are quite rare and hard to find.. i had 2 and sold one like a Fool before i knew how rare they really are.... the one your getting is a true classic... very nice gun,,, you will need some full moon clips for it to extract though, wither way you paid a good price... my effector costed me about 800.00 the first one i had cost me 400.00...
