I took a look at the Crimson Trace pics in that link... and all I can say is WOW!!! It looks like the CT grip melds perfectly with the M&P. Very pretty.

I have the MP9,40 & 45. On all three, I have trouble removing the grip tool. Is this a common problem? What is the solution? Love the guns. very accurate and feel good.

Welcome to the forum.

I just got a M&P9c and I LOVE IT! Yes, it's hard to remove the tool. My advice is to just leave it the hell where it is. The only reason to remove it is to change grips. It is not needed to take the gun apart, and it's not even the best tool for the job.

Best thing I have found is a wooden match, although with some practice I am able to catch the lever with the corner of my finger.

JUST TO CLEAR SOMETHING UP.

It has been said in the past that you need a tool to take apart the M&P. This has been called a flaw. You do not need a tool to take the gun apart. You can pull the trigger just like an XD and it comes apart just as easy. S&W just gives you another option so you don't HAVE to pull the trigger to take it apart. I think it's a great feature. It calls attention to the chamber.

Use it if you want to, and ignore it if you don't.

Obviously first, clear the gun, and make sure it's empty.

Hold the magazine side edge of the tool on the edge of a table...muzzle pointing towards the floor. Maintain downward force, and holding the pistol forward of the trigger guard, turn it like a wrench....that has worked every time for me.
