Sorry.

We'll get back on topic. I'm sure there are thousands of Glocks used as HD weapons. For anyone wanting a solid performer they are the best buy for the dollar. They are the workhorse of the pistol world.

No, I use my Glock for home defense when it's at home, but when I want to carry something a little big, I carry it.

I keep either a G17 or a Sig P220 in my nightstand. Sometimes I have both.

Well, I don't know if this disqualifies me from my own thread or not, but yesterday I carried my G19 on my hip for the first time.

He really wanted to know what it was like out there in the real world so I bought a new Blackhawk SERPA holster and took him with me for a quick walk around the block with the dog. Wow, it was like "the boy in the bubble gets a vaccine" and can now go outside!

He seemed SO happy! "what's THAT dad"? That's a telephone pole son. "What's THAT dad"? A trash can son... this big, new world had him full of questions! "Will we see any BAD GUYS out here?!!!" Yes, son, we probably will, but we can't shoot them unless they try to hurt us first. "RATS!" he said. You see, he's only been there to protect mom and dad INSIDE the house up until now and he's been raised to know that any bad guy IN the house is fair game. I'm confident that he will be able to adapt though.

Later the same day, I asked if he'd like to go for a ride to pick up a newspaper. "Do I have to ride in that dark box like when you take me to the range"? "No" I explained, you can ride in the holster again if you'd like.
"OH JOY!" he exclaimed. I told him he'd have to be QUIET when we were out in public because many people don't appreciate guns who talk. He said "OK dad", I'll be quiet starting RIGHT NOW! (He made that "zipping" motion across his muzzle - it was so cute!)
We were driving down the road and I sensed him fidgeting slightly, but he and the holster seemed to work out OK in the seated position and I was comforted having him with me as I drove. Then, out of nowhere, I heard it...
"Daaaaaad? are we THERE yet?"

Maybe I'll shoulda' left him at home in the drawer?

I usually only have two pistols loaded in the house, my Glock 29 which is for daily carry and my new Glock 20.

The Glock 20 doesn't get as lonely as Emptmag's G19 since I carry the G20 with me when I'm hunting. At least I don't think it's lonely. It hasn't said anything to me yet.

However this post has brightened up an otherwise crappy Monday morning

Oh boy, he was talking to me again today!

Don't know who wants to go for a walk more badly, the dog or the Glock!
(I took BOTH)

If he starts begging for "more oil" and "Mexican carry".........you're on your own.

OK, I've completely hijacked my own thread here, but I thought I'd let you know that my Glock convinced me to take him along as we did some shopping last night.

As I changed my clothes, he kept shouting at me, telling me that I must be nuts to take that .32 with me instead of him. He said "listen, you're not going anywhere fancy, it's cold outside, and I KNOW you're gonna' wear that denim shirt over your T-shirt so just take me along and I promise that I'll be quiet and nobody will see me." I had to agree with him, he could provide more protection than the little Kel-Tec and since I was going to be wearing your typical "middle-aged guy with a gun" clothing, I may as well just take him along.

When we got out of the truck at Kohls, I fastened a button as it was windy, but he kept bugging me to open the button in the store so he could peek out and see what there was to see. "Woooooowww! (whistle) What's THAT dad?" That's lingerie, son... but those are just mannequins" I said. I told him to be quiet, as I headed for the shoe department. He behaved himself and true to his word, nobody saw him even though he printed a bit when I bent over to try on shoes.

We then went to Denny's where I ordered the Mega French Toast Grand Slam Breakfast. "SEE dad? betcha' you're glad you brought me in the paddle holster instead of that other gun in the IWB holster?!!!" Man, he was right! I needed every bit of room I had in my jeans to eat that Mega Slam!
Junior sat there under my denim shirt, as quiet as a church mouse, but I could just sense that smug grin on his muzzle as he sat there knowing that I'd be carrying HIM more often now.

Then I made the mistake of telling my wife I was glad I wore the paddle holster as my jeans were too tight to accommodate the other pistol inside the waistband after eating all that food. "Oh, you brought the Glock?" she said. "SEEEEEEEE dad? I TOLD YOU nobody would see me!" The kid's a smart-ass. Just like his old man!

Looks like my Glock isn't just for HOME defense anymore!
I'll have to see how this will work in the summer though, may have to buy a few big Hawaiian shirts and see if I can hide him that way?

Aloha!
