Default .40 or 9mm? KIDDING! But close....

I'm sure this has been discussed ad nauseum, but what do you guys (and girls) carry in your snubbies, .38 or .357? For some reason, even though the .357 is a MONSTER and follow up shot speed and accuracy suffers, I still carry it in my snubbie when pocket carry is a must. I guess my feeling is that if I only have 5 shots, I want them to be 125 grain gold dots. There are a million opinions on this, so I guess I'm just wondering what you guys do and why. Thanks!

While I do have other snubbies, the two I use most are my S&W 442 and my Colt Dective Special.
Both are .38 specials. I normally carry WW Silvertip 110 gr. Silvertip HPs in both. This is the standard pressure load, not +p.
Reasons, faster follow up shots, and should my mother ever have to use one of them this load will allow much better control for her.
I do switch to Glasser's if I know I am going to a crowded place.
I also have several .38 special +P+ loads around if I should believe that I would need them, but I normally go to one of my S&W K frame .357 4"ers if I want more power.
One of my faviorite sayings, better a hit with a .22 than a miss with the most powerful gun you can find.
On the same note, I will get a S&W 66 2 1/2" one day.

I have a 642 as well, so I don't really have a choice.

158 grain Buffalo Bore in S&W 442.

I would only do .357 out a steel gun.

only reasy i ever use 38 is to keep costs down a bit on paper. i still fire 357 to keep my hand in check, but cant understand why people buy a 38 when you can buy a 357 and shoot both...
