They look nice but I have never handled one. How are the triggers on them?

Hi

The triggers are a step above the trigger on a Sigma. To me they feel a lot like the trigger on a Glock. The design is similar to the Glock with a "safe trigger" arangement.

My bro bought a 9mm and I didn't like it at first. He shoots left-handed and has now switched the mag release button to fit his style. I like it more this week. It is very accurate, not a bad buy. The bro is very happy with the M&P...Mike45

Hi

You can switch these around enough that they will fit one person and not another. That can be good or bad depending on how much you share the pistol.

It's a decent trigger as far as out-of-box manufacturer triggers go in this price range. Trigger always resets at same point with almost no creep. Travel is what one would expect from a DA-style striker-fired trigger. Breaks at around 6 lbs. It's not a "mushy" trigger, but it doesn't break as "crisp" as I'd like. However, a trigger job would likely fix this.

Hope it helps,
CR

You got that right paguns, every time I used it last week, the magazine would drop out. This week, my bro had it switched around to his left hand and there was no problem. He found his favorite backstrap and switched the mag button to his left hand style. He's happy...Mike45

Hi

I just got out the digital trigger gauge and checked my pair.

They both break around 7 1/2 pounds. Pull without the sear engaged is around 4 pounds. I suspect it will drop down a bit as the pistols break in.

S&W was at Gunsite last Fall (sep or oct) having some kind of big *to do* and the word I got from someone who was there was that consensus was they should do something about the indistinct trigger reset.

Dan Burwell (PA gunsmith) was probably one of the first (if not THE first) to do trigger jobs on the M&P and one of the value added effects of his work is that the reset becomes very pronounced, on a par with Glock. Dan has posted here in the gunsmithing forum.

Trigger reset is very critical to fundamental marksmanship, but it is largely unknown to anyone who has not had the benefit of having someone teach them what it is and how necessary it is to accurate shooting.

I'm going to buy one very shortly but it is definitely going to Burwell for a trigger job.

Interesting, as I always know how far to let out the trigger on my M&P9 to get it to reset, and it seems to be very consistent. Maybe I got lucky with mine. I feel a slight "click" when it resets, however I will admit this "click" could be more pronounced.
