IMHO, the G21 is the most accurate pistol in the Glock line. Bench resting it along side my G35 and G24 at 25 yds., the G21 groups better than either. My carry gun is a G36, and it outperforms the G19 and Kahr .40 I used to carry.

I love my G21, it's full size and my carry gun, I made a custom holster (inside front). Doesnt bother me in the slightest to carry it, and theres no print either..

I keep all my brass that I shoot from my G21 because a friend of the family reloads and I would like to get some super accurate .45 rounds to have for competition. I've heard that Glocks can't (or shouldn't) shoot reloads for some reason I do not know.
Is there any truth to that claim? |

I have a G21 SF, which has a slightly shorter (front to back) grip than the normal G21. This thing shoots so straight, and so reliably that it is boring as hell - exactly what I want in a home defense pistol. Easy to clean, too. 13 rounds of .45 HP's? I'll take it. For carry I go for smaller stuff but This gun is it when it comes to protecting the house.

If your friend reloads with clad bullets or FMJs then OK. Reason for the caveat on lead reloads is that Glock uses a special type of rifling that can get lead buildup fairly rapidly and it is possible to have a high pressure situation (not a good idea!!). There are aftermarket barrels that are regular (land and groove) rifling, or you can be very careful and check after every 50 rounds or so and always, always clean the barrel after every use. Since Glock in its early days, just like the early M16s and lousy powder, claimed you never had to clean the pistol for hundreds of rounds, "kabooms" did occur, though more often with the 0.40 due to unsupported chambers. So "clean, clean, clean....." if using lead reloads. Dave_n
PS I always use clad or FMJs when I reload for my G21 |

I CCWed a G21 for maybe a half a year. Easy to shoot -- difficult to conceal when it's warm. The G17 is about the same height and length, but just thinner enough to make a night and day difference in concealability and holster comfort.

Thanks Dave!! What is your recipe for reloading, what grain bullet and what powder do you use?

I think 3 years have been enough time for the OP to make up his mind on the Glock 21. Just saying.

I just picked up my 3rd G30SF this past Monday. I love the way they shoot and handle any 45acp round. They eat Fed HST 230gr +P's without a bobble. My G21SF is a very accurate weapon, but the G30's are even more so. I've put approx. 2500 rounds thru my G21SF, none of my Glocks have suffered any FTF, FTE, or FTRB. I carry the G21SF in the winter as it is easier to conceal then, but if you dress appropriately around your carry gun, you can conceal virtually any gun in any weather. I highly recommend the G21SF or the G21 if you don't require the slightly smaller grip frame. You will love the gun, and how it shoots for you. Good luck and always stay safe.
