Default ArmaLite Inc. AR-24

For about a year, I have been seeing advertisements from Armalite-Pistol:
AR-24 in 9mm and AR-26 in .45. They seem to be designed after the 1911,all medal, and have a good look about them.
(see page 104 American Rifleman August 2008)

Anyone have any 'eyes on'-'hands on' experience with AR 24/26??

~THANKS~

A shop in town has one (9mm). I have handled it. It looks as good in person as in print. It feels like IMO a CZ 75 and looks like. I have not got to shoot one.

Its pretty much their copy of the CZ 75b

CZ 75b

AR-24

I've heard good things about them, but never fired one. I own a CZ and like it very much, so I never really considered buying a copy of a CZ as I personally would most likely rather own a CZ.

Thumbs down Re: ArmaLite Inc. AR-24

No personal experience with them. But they appear to be way overpriced, based on MSRP.

the only shop that has them here has them for 630 new, I can get a cz for 450 new here. I also heard that extra mags are next to imposible to find for the Ar. I have my eyes set on a cz down at steve wagners. I think he is goning to hide it from me because if i drool on it any more its gonna rust.

I have the AR-24k. It is small has a little weight to it, not have any feed issues. I have put 500 rounds through to start and quite a few sessions since then. I use it as my main carry weapon. The mags are not carried in most stores, but if you want or need some call the factory and they will sell you as many as you need. Oh yeah almost forgot it has a pretty light recoil and I can group quick shots.

A guy I shoot with bought one of the 9mm versions when they first came out, the mags were literally impossible to get. The factory had NO stock nor did any resellers that the factory told him to try.

Since we shoot IDPA you need at least 3 mags to play our game, the gun became useless to him since he bought it to shoot in IDPA.

He sold it for nearly as much as he bought it for, which at the time was just as much as a CZ75 it is copied after.

IMO buy a CZ, the mags are plentiful as well as holsters (which was another issue for the AR)
