I hope it (and the ammo!!) actually materializes. I'm a huge fan of the 3" SP101 for general carry purposes, especially as a woods/hiking/camping/fishing gun. The reported ballistics of the round are promising, and as much as I like the SP101 in .357, I think I'd like this better. 3" barrel, six rounds instead of five, and adjustable sights in a round with all the power I need and (honestly) can effectively handle out of the gun sounds like a real winner to me. If I come across one, I'll buy it. Even if I can't find speedloaders, speedstrips work just fine.

Looks like great performance on paper. Just haven't seen any around these parts.

It looks like a mildly interesting cartridge on the surface, but it can't do anything better than calibers that already exist. If it's primary reason for existence is having one more round in a SP101, I just don't get it. Not bashing it, I just don't see a good reason to invest. Plus, I already have enough calibers, thanks. If I owned an SP101, I might think differently. I just saw an ad for it in one of the gun rags I get, for the first time, so I'm betting it will take a while to catch on.

I have seen some Charter Arms revolvers on Gunbroker for the .327, but no Rugers yet.

I like the power level, more on par with 9mm than .38 Special. The .357 with more than 110 grain hollowpoints I suspect would be more than I care to shoot. This provides a little less power than the .357, with what early reviews report is markedly less recoil.

Actually, I guess from a practical standpoint I can actually get the same thing by doing what I'm already doing and just hand loading the .357 to a level I like. But I'd still be shy that extra round, and a 20% increase in firepower isn't to be taken likely when you are already carrying a limited supply in the gun. And taking the practical approach doesn't give me an excuse to buy another gun

Edit: What this kind of reminds me of is the 9mm SP101 I owned a while back, as far as power goes. Except this has 6 rounds instead of the 5 I had in the 9mm, and I don't have to deal with the PIA full moon clips.

I think that Ruger ad claimed 20% less recoil than .357 although I'm not sure which loads they were comparing.

I hear ya!

I fully admit that I'm biased. .357 is probably my second favorite round. I love revolvers, but I have a hard time concealing them. They are just too wide.

Joe-

The HKS 32-J loaders should work, they are six shot and for the .32 H&R Mag. Ruger SP101 is listed for the 32-J. I saw two of the loaders locally, was tempted to buy them for the future...

Speed strips I have not seen in .32

Rick

Thank you!! If all else fails, should be able to order them off the internet... assuming the gun and ammo ever actually materialize.

As for speed strips, I was kinda hoping I could make the ones I have for the .357 work. Maybe someday I'll get to find out
