Default Shoot Through Pocket Holsters / Legal in PA

A coworker of mine was wondering if a shoot through pocket holster is legal to use in PA.

    Thanks

You gotta check and see.....I heard any "holster" that you can fire the firearm while still in the holster is an NFA device and considered an AOW with all the registration requirments. Don't know for sure but if so it would be playing with fire.
You don't have enough guns untill you don't know how many you have.

My question is this then. Why? I mean its just a holster. What does it matter if a gun can be shot while its still in it or not? I realize its the law but their reasoning behind it.

What if the slide is exposed in the holster? Does that make it legal and not AOW?

Asking the reasoning behind a law? This is one of the funniest things I have heard all day. Good luck in your search for an answer.

It is because the gun wouldn't look like a gun. AOW's include firearms that are disguised to look like something else. It follows the doctrine against concealment, which concealment of arms has a long history going back to Roman times of the act of cowards, assassins, and persons of nefarious intent. ....thus what carrying concealed is a regulated privilege in most states, and such disguised guns are regulated as NFA devices.

So if I shoot through the pocket of my jacket without drawing the gun out first I would also be in violation!

Your jacket is not a holster designed to allow the handgun to be fired while inserted.

It wouldn't be much of a pocket holster, if you could shoot through it. The main purposes of a pocket holster are to keep it oriented properly, and cover the trigger so you don't have a ND.
You can never have enough horsepower or ammunition.

I'm all for the pull the gun just slightly out of the holster and let rip, if the situaion ever arose. I just have a cloth lined Blackhawk pocket and in a pitch that would work fine for me.
