Default Has anyone ever taken apart S&W model 19-5

Hello I was trying to clean one of my dads old guns but couldn't figure out how to take it apart. I mean I would like to know how to take the wheel off. I have tried to look online but have had no luck finding a manual Thanks in advance.

Most gunsmiths say not to break down a wheel gun. If you must there is a screw on the right side forward that holds the crane in the frame.
What is the problem? Maybe someone can give you a fix without taking anything apart.

We get spoiled with our self-feeders, half of the fun is taking them apart. I shoot a 586 that has about 7000 rds. through it and have never removed the sideplate. If the cylinder gets sticky lift the star and clean the chamber mouths and the bottom and sides of the ejector.
I am very lucky as I have a good friend that is one hell of a gunsmith. He does not let me play in the wheel guns or the bottom of the Para LDA.
Anything that you need ask.

Phill
