So, the police chief decides to dump 90 department guns and purchase another 90 of a different manufacture. I hope he put off buying those guns until after Glock was finished it's investigation or he has egg on his face today.

If he did, he just cost the taxpayers a good chunk of change for nothing. It should come out of his pocket.

Think of it this way, that means there are alot of 45 GPA Glocks on the market that are hardly used for a great deal.

Glock has said that any problems with its firearms are the result of the ammunition in use or poor maintenance of the weapons.

Say what you will about Glocks, but they are rock-solid reliable. Exploding guns? I just don't see that having anything to do with the manufacturing of the gun. All pistols are factory fired; any defect drastic enough to cause an explosion would have been caught at the factory.

If the officers have other complaints with Glocks, that's fine. But don't blame this on Glock. Especially when the officer was using recalled ammo. If anything, Winter Haven's Police Department needs to better control their ammunition inventory.

We were shooting at our pistol league this week, and a guy there was having quite a few malfs with his G17. I aked him what the problem was, and he said that some of his reloads were junk. When his gun takes a sh*t I dont want to hear about how Glocks are crap. Shake hands with the devil you get burned.

There are plenty of reasons why Glock strongly recommends against using anything but factory loaded ammunition; doing so voids the factory warranty.

Theres been a few reports of Glock kabooms. http://www.thegunzone.com/glock/glock-kb-faq.html It seems most are with reloads, but I wouldn't say Glocks (or any pistol) are completely malfunction immune. They are one hell of a pistol though, my very first Google Glock kaboom.

This is purely ammo related, though. If the ammo manufacturer was saying it was the ammo and had recalled this batch, why would you get all new guns? Its quite obviously the ammo. Why waste so much money on new guns, ammo, and training? I don't understand that move one bit. Ammo malfunctions, so buy new things to fire said ammo?
