Talking Walther P99

Anybody have a Walther P99? I've thought a great deal about getting one, but have read in a couple of places that the slide shears off pins in the polymer portion of the gun, and that the magazine floorplate drops out while the gun is firing. Were these problems the company fixed? Any guidance is appreciated.

Theres a handful of us here that own a P99.

I cant say I've heard of either of those problems. Of course though, because it happened to 1-5 people its a "problem", or in the first year product. ...sorta like the Glock KB thing. {rolls eyes}

The P99's are very fine firearms. They are the choice for many of Europe's police forces and at least 1 military. If the P99's pass a military's requirements - you can rest assured that they are good guns and any "problems" are isolated cases.

For a semi-auto - its good. I'm biased though to target SA revolvers.

I'll get one.....someday. I've had a hell of a time tracking one down. They're a great weapon.
