No giggles, please ..........
I have a NEF 9 shot revolver in .22 s,l,lr., 6" bull bbl. Uglier than a bag of fresh cowchips, but VERY solid , accurate, and a great sidearm for small game season. Have taken many squirrels and rabbits with it. No longer made but can be found used, and fairly cheap.

I have a Ruger Mk1 with skinny 4" barrel that has been fun for 35 years or so. Have a MkII that has been a hoot for about 20. At present though, I'm spending a lot of range time with my new Whitney Wolverine, as finally produced by Olympic Arms. It was a long time getting here, but it was worth the wait. Light, accurate, reliable...and it has "the look" that only the Wolverine ever had.

In any production process there will be lemons and some good ones that are produced...Even BMW's or Sig's experience a lemon once in a while...it's the cost of doing business. There is a reason why more Buckmarks and MKII/IIIs are sold versus the S&W 22a.

The Buckmark and MKII/III are work horses...those two pistols are the AR15/AK/870/10-22/1911 of the 22 pistol world. Inexpensive, reliable, good accuracy, after market parts can be found everywhere.
I guess I'm lucky, my 22A-1 ($175) functions very nicely as long as I pay attention to ammo. I've been taking it to the range at least once a week with no problems that can't be placed on the ammo or head space and timing of the shooter.

Other than annual weapons quals in the reserves, I've shot very little since about 1975. Went to the range with my son and son-in-law last December and totally embarrassed myself with pistols. Decided to buy a 22 and see if I wanted to start shooting again. The 22A met the budget for that purpose and has been a load of fun for the past 6 months. I've added a Ruger Mark III. It's a better pistol in many respects, but in my opinion it's not that far ahead of the 22A.

My favorite may be the Colt Woodsman I shot back in the 70's. Often wonder if it's just a case of memories improving with age, but the only person I know who has one is reluctant to take it out of the original box an loan it out. Really can't understand why.

Hi,

Sorry, for the lateness, this is my first post here!

However, I have only recently purchased a walther p.22 and, in my opinion, it is quite accurate. It definitely reveals how "innacurate" I am.

Although, I am quite new to this sport, the walther is quite consistent. Again, showing my "rookie" status in this sport. No jams, even with "el-cheapo" wal-mart special cci ammo.

Cascade Cartridge, Inc AKA CCI is not the cheapest ammo, Maybe not expensive, but not the cheapest quality you can get by far. May not be match stock, but certainly good enough to shoot regularly.

I have a Browning Buckmark Pro Target (5.5" heavy barrel) that I bought used at the Gander Mountain in Chambersburg, never had any problems, I like the fully round bull barrel, and I like the sights better then the Rugers. Another good point on then Brownings is that you can get almost any part from Brownells, my Buckmark was missing the sight hoods and I was able to find them no problem at Brownells. Personally I've never had a problem with the Ruger .22s, and the only reason I bought the Browning was the the price, like I said I bought it used but for $185 but I'm glad I found it, it's one of the best and most accurate plinkers I've ever fired.

Boy! So many great choices here, but I think mine would have to be my High Standard Double-Nine 9-shot. Like the others, accurate and fun to shoot.

Never shot anything breathing with it, but it sure does a cool number on those little metal targets.
