Default Smith 457

Does anyone have experience with this pistol? I bought one a few months ago, only shot it once and love it. Very manageable and really accurate. Also having a hard time finding a holster. Any suggestions appreciated.

Its a good gun but the lightweight alloy frame wont hold up to alot of +p rounds. Also, they were considered a "budget" gun and "might" not have the same quality control as other Smith autos. I've owned two different 457's and the first one was smooth glass, the other was "rougher" when working the action. It still went bang but definately wasnt as "smooth" as my first 457.

Also you can see what I mean about quality control with the magazine/grip sizing. Alot of 457's have an issue with the magazine. The mag protrudes slightly lower than it should. You can see of the side of the magazine just below the bottom of the grip. I've attached some pics to show what I mean. It something that has always bothered me about the gun.

I just got the 457, and I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a paddle holster for it?

I have a Fobus SG21 that fits ok, not overly thrilled with it, but it works for now. I was just looking for some nicer leather. Found some nice stuff at Durango Leather for about $75 with a thumbsnap. Think I'll be making a buy soon.

I was at the range with the 457 today and put 100 rds thru it, not one problem. It felt nice and smooth. Whether it was me or the gun...right on target. I have a Galco "Yaque" holster and it works great with the 457.
