Default Gun Fever Subsided: Am I Sick?

I truly never thought I'd be saying this, but over the last 3 weeks or so, I have had no real compulsion to buy or trade. I had been driven like a madman to find that "perfect" 1911. After getting the Dan Wesson CCO, which met every one of my expectations, I've become sort of, dare I say, disinterested? Sure, there are a few other guns I'd like to get someday, but I'm no longer obsessed. Should I seek treatment?

3 weeks, really? That's nothing. I don't think there's anything wrong with you.

If you said 6 months, then I'd be worried.

Maybe that's the problem. I just don't know what it is. Though, one thing I'm lacking is a single action revolver.

If I go 6 months, I think it would be safe to assume I died.

Death seems to be the only known cure for the affliction known as "gunnitis".

Perfectly good time to start an NFA collection. You can make payments while waiting for your new toy and the sheer anticipation will get you excited again. I recommend a AOW of some type first. $5 transfer fee to get to the process under way and so many fun things to play with.

This is a good idea too, since you obviously aren't in an "instant gratification" mood right now.

Mitch Hedberg said he sometimes throws a potato in the oven, even if he doesn't want one. They take so long to bake, that by the time it's done, who knows! The same can be said for NFA items. Get those forms in now, you will thank yourself in about 6 months!
