Both guns carry the same, are about the same weight, are the same caliber and are from a good company that stands behind their work.

Pick the one that feels best in your hand and don't look back.

Also...search GLOCK VS. XD on this site and you will have hours of reading fun.

Can of worms, meet opener.

Here's my take:

Both are equally reliable and cost about the same.

Both are equally accurate more or less.

Glock grip angle feels weird to me. When I present the gun I (like a lot of people) move my hand forward as if punching a fist -- pretty familiar movement. The more the grip allows that natural movement to place the sights on what's in front of you, maybe the better and the XD does that for me. OTOH, I think the Glock grip angle makes it easier to lock the wrists for more natural recoil control and follow up shot. Six of one, half dozen of another -- shoot any gun enough and whatever it does or has -- sights on the bottom and three heads, whatever -- you'll get used to it soon enough anyway.

XD has grip safety. I like that. Some people don't.

Glock has been around longer so has more holsters, more accessories and more parts available. XD has plenty of the same so it's not exactly an orphan.

The deciding factor . . . Glock is an ugly gun. Get the XD.

I own them both and love them both as well. I have a better holster for the XD so that gets carried more. Its a Mitch Rosen 5 JR and wears very comfortable. IMO the Glock is far better looking than the XD. I dontknow why people say the Glock is ugly. To me the XD looks clumsy but it works and thats all that matters.
