[quote=doug;12623]hello guys, and welcome to the forums, MTauss2000!
Doug wrote - The 1911 is a very well engineered pistol, and is a lot of fun to shoot. As you know, they generally only hold 7+1, and are .45 ACP. They pack significantly more of a punch, and will make any attacker non-threatening in a single shot. They do cost more to shoot, obviously, so if you're going to the range a lot, it might not be ideal. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Though most of that is true the 45acp Stopping power can be exaggerated and I'm a 1911 fan I also own the PX4 in 45acp. But I don't think it will stop a Charging bear not even a mad Panda (unless with specaIlity loads it may stop the Panda bear). Any way shot placement is the key. Note the 357 magnum is reputed to be the best man stopper, 45acp in hydra shock is in the top 5 along with the 9mm corbon. But lets not get into that age old debate what you like to shoot and how well you shoot it has more to do with the effectiveness of your weapon. Back on subject I like the look and feel of the PX4 storm over the G21sf but likes the G21 fire power. Last edited by Neko456; May 11th, 2010 at 03:26 PM. |

92 is a big gun, I wouldn't ever want to carry one of those.
I hear that a lot but its no bigger then a Glock 17, i think the 17 is chunkier but granted neither is a prime example of a conceal carry gun (that will be the G19). I'd will say that now with all these smaller 15 shot 9mms the 92 is big for the caliber. I still like the reliability of the 92, my Glocks won't shoot mild powered reloads the 92/96s will shoot/function with everything that will load. |

My first and still love it, sometimes used for CCW. No FTF's and fits my hand like glove. The compact version has been announced, but who knows when it actually is available. Nice choice!

I have the gun in the 45acp it is a excellent pistol with features from the best of the best in the auto pistol world. It has the polymer frame and take down similar to the glock but less blocking styling. It has safety features and operation like most Berettas which are excellent, It also has the rotating barrel like the Cougar series reported to be the msot solid built Beretta ever made. I also have the Glock 21 sf it is a powerhouse 14 shot 45acp pistol simple and excellent, but the PX 45acp is my favorite of the two beause of its at home like operation. Both are solid 1st rate pistols.
As a 1st gun the PX4 in 9mm 17 shot pistol gets raving reviews as does the 40 & 45acp but because of the cost of the ammo NOW 45acp @$25 for a box of 50 ball ammo or $32 for a box 20 jhp(unless you been reloading for yrs. like me) is expensive to shoot. |
