That's odd, I didn't have a problem with the other TWENTY guns that were rented that day. That must be a problem for XD owners though
(BTW, I never seen that picture used! NICE haha) I never had a problem with the GLOCK either, But I guess that's a given.xd= fucking junk

Love it, carry it every day in a Don Hume JIT Slide. It was easy to shoot when new, but the XD Custom Carry Package" made a HUGE difference!
It's basically night sights, combat action job and adjustable overtravel. The action job is superb. $200 and turn around time from SA was about 3 weeks. I also added the Lasermax guide rod. Also, if you look around you can still get the XD Accessory kits. The come with 3 mags and another mag pouch. I recently bought a 10 round kit from budsgunshop - $40 shipped. |

Was looking at a XD subcompact yesterday. I noticed something funny. The magazine had a wierd extension on the compact mag. It was just enough for the pinky to lay on. It felt great, but would barely do anything to hinder the conealment. It was a pearce magazine extension. I think these will be going on all the compact magazines that I have when I get my Subcompact. VERY NICE.

Read what Chuck Taylor has to say. Read the last two paragraphs at least.
http://www.chucktaylorasaa.com/SpringfieldXD9.html The dark side. Your half way there with the Glock. Now give the XD its due. http://www.sightm1911.com/lib/review/XD-9_Tactical.htm

LOL, it's great that I post my personal, and admittedly extremely RARE failures with the XD and everyone gets on the wagon to defend it. REMEMBER, I only responded because the original poster asked for everyone to POST THEIR EXPERIENCE, GOOD OR BAD. It really makes me wonder just how many people experience failures with the XD but don't own up to it, in fear of putting foot in mouth? It's almost like all of the XD owners point out the GLOCK Kaboom, but fail to mention the documented and just as rare XD Kaboom.
I know lots of people who are very happy with their XD's, and I don't interrupt anyone when they recommend it. It's a great gun, I'm sure. But it sure as hell left a bad taste in my mouth. Anyway... Quote:
Philadelphia...... It's great that the XD got gun of the year by a magazine. That means nothing to me (advertising, business, yea, it's all there), not to mention they can't give the GLOCK gun of the year for the past 2 DECADES. ![]() Enough about GLOCK though. I didn't intend my original post being a GLOCK VS XD post. Lots of people own the XD and love it, more so than their glocks. I'm sure it's a great gun. But two XD's, same day, both failures, is just too much for me to ever like them. It's a bummer because the XD-9 sub was a really comfortable, great shooting gun. Same accuracy as the GLOCK, and perhaps it was even more comfortable. But I'll trade off that little bit of "hand" comfort for the comfort of knowing my gun will go bang. Again, I'm not saying that the XD won't go bang if I were to get another, but "I" KNOW that the glock will (purely personal comfort/trust issue).
