No, I got to good a deal to worry about that. $498 out the door. I wasn't passing that up.

It will be going in for some night sights after I decide what to put on it, and where to get it done.

SA does nice work and you'll get to maintain your warranty. They have a selection of different night sites available. You can download the custom worksheet from their site.

I had the XD carry package done with the Trijicon sites and it was definately worth it.

XD CARRY PACKAGE: $ 195.00
Combat action job; overtravel adjustment added to trigger; Springfield Custom 3 dot tritium night sights; inspect entire pistol; test fire.
Above package w/Trijicon tritium night sights $ 200.00
Above package w/Heinie or XS tritium night sights $ 215.00
Other sight and finish options available. Call Springfield Custom for pricing on specific requests.

Of course, I carry a 1911 now, but thats beside the point :-)

Although I am thinking of adding the lasermax for pint and shoot situations.
I have the guide rod laser in my XD9 Sub. It works, and it's accurate.

However, I put the Crimson Trace grips on my 1911 and I like them much better. They are a little less expensive than a guide rod laser and there is no need to remember to activate the laser. On the Lasermax, you have to remember to to hit the switch (integrated into the take down lever) and it's not as easy to get it to stay on as you might like. The CTC laser is also MUCH brighter and more powerful and allows for elevation and windage adjustment.

Crimson trace just started making grips for the XD, but I don't think they have a model for the sub compact yet.

What is involved with the Combat Action Job? What was the difference in the pistol after you got it? I am use to my full size XD, so I am leary of messing with the trigger.

What night sights did you go with? This is the one thing I do want to get.

I love the looks of it too. And yep, got it at Cove Creek Outfitters in Bedford. Best price around.

Bring on the Combat Shoots buddy. I'm going realistic this year. Using what I really carry all the time. Holster and Pistol. Still working on what to do about magazine carriers. May just have to use the XD magazine carriers.
