40 's have more snap than a 45, it's controlable , but with that siad I just sold the last of my 40's,,that was most of my collection at one time,,I prefer 9mm and 45acp.

I love my .9mm
I'm going to get another XD, I just haven't decided which one. Next couple of shoots i'll try them again and make a decision.
Although, I do like the sub compacts. All the men with the XD's at the shoots have full size.

I put at least %75 of the 9mm i brought through your xd and it convinced me to get one. I will officially have it at the next shoot.

mtbkski...if you have one of the pearce extensions by then would you mind letting my try it out? If you have a holster as well Id be interested to see, should be a little after the shoot that my LTFC will be approved.

Thanks!

If I have it, and I make it to the shoot. You would be more than welcome to give the a try.

Michele
check out the XD 45 compact I just picked mine up today it has a 4 inch barrel same as the service model but has the short grip.It comes with 2 magazines a 10 round and a 13 round .with the 13 it makes the grip the same as the service model and the 10 it makes it nice for ccw. I haven't shot it yet but if it's like my other XD it will be flawless

Thanks I will try it.
I liked the .40, but I loved the .45
Compact is only slightly bigger than the sub.
Actually I would like to try the .40 sub compact, I bet thats fun!

Michele, just to clarify the large magizines are 13 round not 12 as I said in my last post.(sorry bout that)

I looked at the 40 sub but for me the grip was a little to small for me the 45 just felt better.

Default Re: XD9 SUB Compcat

For a man a slightly longer grip is necessary. Although Mtbkski used the 10 round on my sub and loved it.
I have the .9mm sub compact, and actually I like the 16 round mag better. I will use the 10 round for carry, but I feel like I have more control with the longer mag.
All the grips for the XD's are basically the same. Seems like thats the only semi that fits my hand properly, without rubbing or killing my hand. I love the 1911's but they just don't fit my hand. So XD's will be my handguns. Actually, I think i'll eventually have all 3 (.9, .40, .45).

The .40 sub has 9 + 1 and 12 + 1, the .9 has 10 & 16
