Default RIA Tactical

I am looking to get my first 1911 and I have this in mind...

I figure since I am new to the 1911 platform, this would be a great gun to start with.

Does anyone have any experience with this particular model?

Since this would be my first 1911, would this be a viable option to start with?

I have some experience with a S&W 1911PD, but do not want to pay close to $1000 for my first 1911, not yet at least.

I know, I know, "you get what you pay for", but I have seen alot of positive comments and reviews about the RIA's and since the price can't be beat, I wouldn't mind giving this a try.

I carry one daily and my fiancee has one. I can't find anything negative to say about them. If you do happen to have a problem, the guys out in Vegas will make it right for you, quickly. As long as you're not expecting a Baer or Brown, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

They are lower end 1911's that are made in the Philipines if I'm not mistaken. Never owned one, have heard good and bad about them (like everything else). They sure do look nice and @ $389 are a bargain. I would probably spring for one, if you didn't like it I would imagine you could sell it for little loss.

Yep, they're made in the Philipines, same factory as the Charles Daly 1911s. They're good guns for the price. The guys on the 1911 board I'm a member of seem to love them.

Granted...it's not a bad idea to save a little more and spring for a Taurus...
