Oh, those are Walther PPs. This is the model that pre-dated the PPK. Should have the same Walther quality, but a little larger and hold one more 32 ACP round than a PPK in the same chambering. Here's a good writeup on the PP.

I'd check & make sure they are German PPs, not French Manhurins. Also, they appear to be 32 ACP, I hope you aren't thinking about carrying one of these.

Welcome! I don't know anything about the S&W PPK's. I have one made in Ulm
DOB 1968. Mine never met a round it didn't like but certainly has it's favorites.
Someone on this fine forum will know.

Recently purchased a Walther PPK 380. Was amazed at the accuracy of the little pistol. Fired 100 rds with it the other day with no malfunctions. Only problem is that it tends to bite me a little on the hand. Also have big time problems racking the slide back. So much so that so far I have been unable to field strip it. Suppose it will get looser as time goes by. To paraphrase the British comedy "Are You Being Served" 'it will lossen up with wear'.

Suggestion" Before you go to field strip it, make sure the gun is unloaded of course, then set the decocker in the up, or fire position, cock the hammer, pull down the trigger guard, push and hold it to the left side so it stays down, "then" rack the slide back, lift the back end of it, and ease it forward. Piece of cake. Having the hammer cocked makes it a whole lot easier because you aren't pushing against the hammer spring at the same time as the recoil spring.

I purchased a Walther PPK-S a few month ago new. Love shooting the thing and now have around 400 rounds through it. Amazed at the accuracy of it for such a small hand gun. Have only one problem. I have been unable to disassemble it following the instructions in the manual. Problem is getting the slide to the rear far enough to lift it up in order to move it forward for disassembly. I guess I just don't have the arm strength at my age (76). Even with the hammer back I can't do it. Any suggestions other than build up my arm strength Thanks.

Sorry about this post, forgot I did ask this once before.

Pull the slide back a tiny amount, pull the trigger guard front down until you see daylight between the trigger guard and the frame. Sliding a popsicle stick under the trigger guard keeps it out without marring the gun.

Afterwards, pull the slide back. It should slide back about 1/4" further, and the rear will rise up only when it's fully pulled back.

Take it back to your dealer. Have him call S&W. S&W turned out a batch of them with recoil springs that are too long. They jam up and make disassembly almost impossible. My local dealer had 2 of them that he had to get replacement springs for. Once the recoil spring is replaced, if that is the problem, it will be fine.

I hope I don't have that problem with my PPK. I still haven't disassembled mine ever since I bought it several months ago.

Here's one my father-in-law gave me. He brought it back from Germany after WWII. Still a good shooter. I don't carry it but I still take it to the range every once in a while. Like all of us old-timers, it likes to get out and kick up its heels on occasion.
