I think it's a Ruger Super redhawk .44 magnum.

I do see a close match, but what of the 6 groove cylinder? Is the solid cylinder an option I don't see on Ruger's site?

I just watched the movie (I guess I'm a little behind the times) and I distinctly remember seeing the word "magnum" on the side of the barrel...at least, I think I did.

I thought it might have been a short barrel .500 mag, but no, I was sorely mistaken. What a let down.

Just to add to the semantic exploration, it is a revolver... not a pistol. Now if one were to call it a firearm that would be kosher as well.

And yes, it is the Ruger Alaskan, an entirely worthless defense weapon.
