I like mine to carry sometimes, but am not that much into DA/SA pistols. I only have a 220 and 225 that shoot that way. Both my SIGS share the same holster which is nice, but the 225 carry's great. Accuracy is great, but I could use a taller rear or shorter front sight. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you give for it? Regular 225's are getting harder and harder to come by since they stopped bringing them in.

I have seen the 225's on the Center Fire Systems website for $265. There were 3 at the gun show in Harrisburg today for $280. I've seen the same ones on the Gunbroker website for as much as $400.

You are looking at the P6. They are two different models. The surplus P6 was issued PD firearm for German police. Most have a different feed ramp profile and have a break away hammer so if dropped on the ground, the officer is forced to turn in the gun for inspection as the hammer spur will break off. The 225 doesn't have these features and comes straight from SIG to us as is.

I was aware that SIG made the 225 specifically for the German police and they are the ones who designated the "P6." I didn't realize there was an actual 225 model released to the public. Thanks

Mine is a P6.

I have a P225 and a P6. They are the same pistol, all parts interchange. I have read about feeding problems with HP ammo in some P6s, mine has been flawless.

They essentially are except for the model designation, different barrel, and different hammer. Kinda like a 1911. You can swap parts out on different ones, but they can be different makes or models.

The P6 isn't a bad buy for 259.00. I picked up a second at Dan's Ammo in Westmoreland County for my daughter. Dan let myself and a buddy rummage through a large crate of P6s and hand select a few. Daughter and I are very pleased with ours. Considering I paid almost 700.00 with tax for my P 225 many moons ago, it was nice to be able to buy a Sig in great condition for less than 300 bucks. BTW, our P6s are now sporting the P 225 hammers, the drop-indicating P6 hammers are in the parts drawer.

Does Dan have any more at that price? Can you give us his contact info?

Thanks,
Hawk
