The 239 is OK but I prefer the feel of the 225.

The 220 has too big a footprint for a .45ACP IMHO.

Nice looking pistol! So far I really like the Sigs.

The 225 would be comparabe to the current P226? Or P229? Is the single stack more reliable then the double stack?

Size-wise it's about the same as the 229. I haven't heard anything about the single vs double and reliability. They are both very reliable.

Perhaps he meant single-stack is better from the standpoint that single-stacks usually have a thinner grip which makes them easier to grip and carry?

I have smaller hands and I find the grip on the single stack to be much more comfortable.

When you really think about it, for most of us who never get into actual combat situations, it also serves as somewhat of a deterrent to using up ammo quickly at the range or pit.

I don't have much experience with double stacks except in rifles. Are they inherently less relaible in pistols as far as feeding goes? I don't know.

I guess, with the P-6, I'd have to say, to reference a TV show, "Eight is Enough".

I own a SIG Mosquito (.22LR) that I bought in order to teach my children gun safety. I love that gun so I wanted a larger caliber SIG for myself. I already have a S&W Sigma 9mm but I picked up the 225 recently. If you alternate shooting the two guns, you realize the major difference between the trigger pulls. I won't debate which is better but I will say that both guns are great and I can shoot both rather well. I believe that it would be better to get used to one or the other but I have a hard time parting with either. To me, the SIG feels like a much more durable gun and I love both of mine. The 16 round magazine of the S&W is nice in comparison to the 8 round mag of the SIG but I guess you are right about 8 being enough.

FYI - since I have seen quite a few used 225's / P6's floating around at great prices lately:
