Thanks DanP,
I moved to Pike Co.[Milford] about 9 years ago from the Communist state of N.J..
All of the years that I had lived in N.J. left me with a bad taste in my mouth as far as the ownership of weapons/firearms. After serving my country for 4 years with the 82nd Airborne and then returning home, I wanted to become a LEO. A friend of mine, [a LEO ] suggested getting on with the town auxiliary force to get an idea of what one would go through as a LEO. During my 2 yrs. of service and waiting for a slot to open, I experienced a number of situations that told me that being a LEO takes alot out of you and you must have the right temperment. At that time I did not and moved along and got into aviation. Glad I took my friends advice and experienced just a very small part of what LEO's go through daily. I have been instructing aircraft systems to pilots and mechanics now for almost 21 years and truly love what I do. One thing I did enjoy getting back into was firearms/weapons. The town aux. force was allowed to carry weapons on duty and we had firearms training and quals along with the regular force. The amount of red tape you had to go thru to buy a weapon was crazy. That alone was the main reason that I only bought 1 weapon, [S&W Model 10 4" bbl ] and sold afew years latter. When I moved to Pa. and found out how a real state treats its people versus subjects, I found a re-newed interest in my 2nd Amdt. rights. I, along with my sons now enjoy shooting to relax, meet some really great people and more importantly, now have the God given right to protect Life, family and property. What a great state! Thanks for the opportunity to express myself here and keep up the good work that this forum provides for the people of Pa..

Thanks for your post. I can't believe that beautifull Pike Co. has soo few "surfing" firearm enthusiasts. I'm a part time visitor(40 weekends a year) to the area and must admit I'm not pleased with the responce to this website. I am a little let down by the fact such a beautifull, natural, historic corner of the Keystone State can't be supported by it's local sportsman. I guess the internet has low appeal to the folks that call this region home! I love PA, I love Pike! If you read this post and understand my message, let's hear from you!

I think a lot of that is just that people don't know yet. We've only been around since March and the word is spreading exponentially. As soon as we get one guy in a town, he'll hit the range and mention it to two other guys, etc.

Our members are definitely concentrated in the cities right now as those always grow faster, but I think in the end we'll bleed into all areas of the state.

Hi,
I have lived here for several years now and never knew about this site. I stumbled on it by accident. I just took up a interest in target rifle shooting. I just purchased a savage model 10 fp and I was reseaching some info when I found this web site.

My main interests were in handguns. But, now i think i have found a whole new world.

I'm glad i found this site.

Hi everyone, just moved from New York City last summer, I would spend some summers when a teenager in the area. Fell in love with it then, and I finally talked my wife into moving out here to Beautiful Pike county. I immediately began to exercise my 2nd amendment rights. Learning something new everyday. There's nothing like this sport and I'm glad I can now enjoy it (NYC not gun friendly), as well as being able to defend my family if needed. Stumbled across this sight while doing research for CCW. Hopefully we will eventually have more active members participating. I post in a forum called Bersa Talk since I currently own a Bersa Thunder 380. Great bunch that is very active, btw they discuss other firearms as well. They are friendly and helpful bunch.

I grew up in S.E. PA and moved away when I was 19. I moved all over the country working in the semiconductor industry and finally moved back here last year to Dingmans Ferry. My grand parents owned a cabin off rt 402 when I was growing up and I always loved Pike county. I have two son's 12 and 14 and we all hunt, fish and love to shoot guns. My wife even gets into it a little bit. She wants to try turkey hunting next year. I own mostly rifles, but I realy like shooting handguns. I got my concealed carry permit last month and I just bought a carry gun this weekend. I got a HK USP compact 40 cal with Trijicon night sites. I got to shoot it this weekend it's driving me crazy. I shoot out at the RT6 range too, but I really want to find someplace else that's not so crowded. Maybe I'll see you guys there one of these weekends.

Hello all...

I stumbled on this forum purely by accident while looking up information on class 3 firearms laws and regulations. I was looking up information on sound suppressors and trying to find out if anyone out here has had any difficulty with obtaining the signatures from the local sheriff. I still haven't found my answer, so if anybody out there has any input or already owns an NFA device, let me know.

Oh, now with introductions...

I moved out here with my wife from the socialist state of New Jersey (good riddens to it, except my poor parents still live there) and have been in Dingmans for about 7 or 8 years now. I love this area and the fact that it and this state are so gun friendly. I also love the fly fishing and hiking this area offers.

Wow I didn't notice until now but this Thread has been around for a year and only seven posts, thats sad .
Anyhow were on Route6 is there a range? I have been going all the way to Tannersville to Sunset Hill Range. Though I understand that Dunkelbergers is suppose to open a range in Stroudsburg. That would be closer to were i live though it still would be a 45 minute ride.

You have to understand Thunder380, that there are likely more gun owners in this area and they probably don't know that this site even exists. I didn't even know that it existed until I did a google search for class 3 information. I am sure more will come along, it will just take a little time.
