Oh, thanks for the heads-up on the possible Dunkleburger range. I am still just as close to Sunset Hill as I am to the route 6 range, so I will still go to the Sunset Hill Range just the same.

Thunder, the range on Rt 6 is just before Lake Wallenpaupack. If you are coming from Milford head towards the lake. It's about a mile past the intersection of Rt 6 and Rt 402 on the right. There's a brown sign right at the entrance. If you go on the PA Game Commission web site they have a list of all public ranges in PA.

Why thank you very much for the information. It's greatly appreciated. I will look into that sight.

I came across this site while looking for places to shoot in the area. I have been reading for a couple or hours now and am glad I found you all.

As most people in Pike Co., I am a transplant. We moved from Long Island about 2 ½ years ago to be closer to the grandkids. I probably would have been better off kidnapping the little bugs, as there were more places to shoot and fish on LI. OK, it took me 2 years to get used to this place and am now finally settling in.

But, where the hell are the 7-11’s. The closest places to shoot clays are Edred Preserve in NY and a few places in NJ, and Sunset Hill if you can call that shooting clays.

My son-in-law moved the kids here to get them away from the violence of “the city”. But, several of the communities off of 739 are full of those kid gangs with those tear drops tattooed under the eye. Osama the bomber and family moved in a few blocks away… Boy I am glad I live in a gated community and carry. Gun Control is being able to hit your mark - Consistently.

OK, all kidding aside, this is a great place to bring up kids. I sincerely enjoy my neighbors and community and all the folks I have come in contact with at the Rt6 range.

Thanks for the opportunity to jabber a bit and talk some nonsense, keep up the good work.

Default Moved in 2 years ago from NYC

I have moved with my family from NYC about two years ago. I live in Conashaugh Lakes. I usually go shooting at Sunset Hill. Nice place to shoot and very safe. They have a good gunsmith too. I was looking for an indoor range.... I like to shoot the 44 magnum!

I recently pushased a snubby from Dunkelbergers, and spoke to the saleman by the name of Andy, and he said that they are working on an indoor range which will be opening this summer. That would be terrific to shoot during the winter. I also shoot at Sunset Hills. Anthony is a really nice guy, and will take his time to walk you threw the process and give you advice on the care of your weapon as well.

Thunder_380, what did you get?

I really like Dunkelberger’s. I bought my last 2 pistols from George Dunkelberger (the old man). He said late September to early October for the indoor range (something about permits). I can’t wait.

I like Sunset Hills also, and they will be much better when they build their 5 station regulation Trap Range. Sunset Hill’s gunsmith Tony is very good so that’s another plus for them.

But, nothing better than shooting indoors!

I need to go to Stroudsburg, probably Thursday, so I think I can make a day of it. Drop off Sigma at Sunset Hill for a trigger job, shoot a couple of boxes, check out Warner’s, trip to Dunkelberger’s… Life is hard.

I got a S&W 38 Special 637 Airweight, that also came with a kydex holster. I also purchased from them a Bersa Thunder .380 Duo Tone.
