A guy that I work with mentioned that his membership was close to expiring and he was planning on sending his dues to the club.

He told me that the closing is not a done deal.

The Holmesburg Fish & Game Protective Association is still very much in business. They've been waging a political war in Philly over an attempt by the prisons to take over what the club built there. Since August, they've succeeded in getting the property they lease transferred to the Fairmount Park Commission (FPC) and they also managed to get their current lease extended through April of '08. They are currently lobbying the FPC for a new lease from that commission. They are confident enough that there efforts are paying off that they have begun accepting dues for '08 and they are looking for new members as well.
