This is just sad. You cant even take your kids to the movies anymore without fearing for your life. Who in there right mind would take a gun to the movies unless you plans to cause drama.

Ummm.....I would. I carry a gun in case I need to defend myself, not to "cause drama".

What?!?

So by this same logic you would not have a fire extinguisher unless you planned on starting a fire?

Please! Many of us carry firearms, as in all the time, as a safety device. That does not mean we are going to use them inappropriately.

Now if what you are saying is that you do not trust yourself to be able to carry a firearm and not use it in an inappropriate way, then by all means please do not carry one. But keep in mind your issue has no basis in comparison to anyone else here or elsewhere that carries a firearm.

Well you must have a crystal ball that can see into the future for real, since you know when you will and when you won't need a gun. But let's say you were at the movies and let's say you were running your yap. Then you might need a gun to defend yourself against someone who wouldn't think twice about shooting you for making yourself obnoxious.

Now I can see you coming back to this thread and saying you would never be obnoxious. But you are doing so right now with your attitude about who should carry and where the should or should not carry. I'll bet you wouldn't carry in a restaurant, or at a school, or in a church, or any of those other gun free zones, because no one ever needs a gun there, right? And think of all the children at the movies! Why, that is almost like carrying at a soccer game. No one would ever need a gun there. Maybe you could tell us exactly where you think you might need a gun?

Hey, you aren't a sock puppet for ALPAPS, are you?

I don't think you can make these types of conclusions based on the info in Yawns post.

Initiating contact does not make one intelligible to defend oneself.

Asking someone to quiet down may or may not be an initiation of force dependent on how it went down. Same as asking someone "excuse me" to allow you to pass them by.

Also, we do not know if he could retreat. If he was in fear for his life, and being beat on by multiple attackers can certainly put your life at risk, he may be justified.

Again, I'm not going to make that call on the info presented, even in an hypothetical sense. I don't think there is nearly enough info.
