Pennsylvania Governor Still on Anti-Gun Rampage Friday, July 13, 2007 During a speech in Lancaster County with the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association, Governor Ed Rendell (D) once again tried to rally support to pass legislation restricting our Second Amendment rights. Governor Rendell is urging law enforcement to join in his efforts to pass his agenda for the legislative session this fall in Harrisburg which includes limiting firearm purchases to one-gun-a-month as well as changing state preemption laws to allow local municipalities to pass their own laws. Please contact the Governor at (717) 787-2500, your State Senator at (717) 787-5920, and your State Representative at (717) 787-2372 and respectfully urge them to oppose any gun control measures. Wotta tool... Here's the $64 question - WHAT IN THE WIDE, WIDE WORLD OF SPORTS, IS A-GOIN' ON IN THIS STATE?!?! I'm not from here originally, and voted AGAINST him in my one election here so far, but how in the FREEP can the man have a THIRTY ONE PER CENT 'APPROVAL' RATING (if you can even call 31%, 'approval!') less than 6 mos. before the last election, and STILL win in a LANDSLIDE?!?! I understand his claim to fame before this, was a mayor of Filthadelphia, which obviously makes him beholden to the Philly Mob bosses ('Nice move, ED! Fat Tony doesn't GET his guns at Wal-Mart, ya' JERKASS!!! Gun bans only make it easier for HIM to do 'bidness!'), so, technically speaking - in PA - he could win in a landslide if his approval dipped to 20 below! But HOW can you vote for a guy, when you LOOK at him (and listen to him!), & your FIRST thought is, "shouldn't he be the 2nd shift Asst. Manager at a McDonalds somewhere ('You want some FRIES with that budget deal?')?" Not that he's even smart enough to pass a McDonald's management seminar! Short of praying for the inevitable heart attack he so richly deserves, from eating all that KFC extra crispy style, my suggestion would be, that when the SHTF, and after the PA Free Militia captures Harrisburg & the capitol, as part of our statewide celebrations, we could throw a state fair, and finally put Ed to some PRODUCTIVE work, by employing him at the 'Whack-a-Mole' booth. He can be the mole. Bob |

The guy would make a fine decoration for some lamp post.
You know who voted him in and why. Tax increases do not phase people that pay no taxes. |

If PA Legislatures hadn't voted themselves a pay raise late one night, the idiot Rendell and the (very slight) Democratic majorities probably wouldn't be in office.
Rendell was a crook and incompetent as mayor...and is still a fool. Last edited by RoyJackson; July 17th, 2007 at 08:59 AM. |

I know someone who till recently worked in the Gov office, and was told by them this is the most screwed up administration they ever worked for. Let's look at the facts:
1) we get more money from the feds, but because the feds are phasing out a fund that they informed us of 9+ years ago they would be doing (previous administration), Rendell claims the Feds are cutting our funding. 2) we have a MAJOR Surplus in the budget from last year, instead of cutting taxes and returning the money to the productive members of the commonwealth, we're going to look for new ways to spend it, AND increase taxes further penalizing those who are audacious enough to be contributing to the growth of the economy, and their own well being. 3) We're going to increase the budget at almost double the inflation rate (inflation is 3%, budget is increased 5%) to increase funding for schools that already have the highest per capita dollars per student in the state, but the lowest overall test scores, sure let's throw good money after bad. While they are spending money for Laptops in Philly high schools, they are cutting two highly successful education Programs in the Harrisburg (70% reduction in funding) and Lebanon (total elimination) school districts (this is the at risk special classes that have reduced crime, and drop out rates). 4)to support a failing product line (in this case mass transit) we're going to charge increased rates to people who never use the product, and most likely never will. Instead of treating it like a business and reforming it to make it profitable, and self sustaining. In addition, not only will we charge non-users, but we'll funnel 70% of that money to one location (any guesses where it will be?) If this is too obscure, I'm talking about the rate hike on the Turnpike. This money will not be used to improve the turnpike, or support other roads/ PennDOT needs, but will support mass transit, with 70% of the money going to Philly, and 20% to Harrisburg the remaining 10% will be spread out across the state. 5) We're going to pressure the party loyalists to hold up the budget AFTER it was agreed to because the Gov's pet projects (hand outs) for Philly were cut from both house and senate versions of the budget. 6) steady tax increases and mismanagement for the entirety of his term and re-election. 7) Total disregard for personal rights, the US and State Constitutions. This is just the tip of the iceberg, which has become known, and a big part of why I started the Traitorous politician's thread. BTW, I also blame the Republican party for the defeat in the last GOV election. Not only were all available candidates very weak, they also ran a poor campaign, with very little support of the candidate, and next to no adverts in my area, till way too late, I suspect they were taking the conservative vote for granted. Sorry, I'm done ranting for now. Last edited by theshadow; July 17th, 2007 at 09:49 AM. |

Unfortunately PA Libs are the most uninformed people in regards to politics I have come across. They just "hate Bush", thats the gist of their platform. Ask them to quote a fact regarding any policy and all you get is Dem talking points which are again strictly "hate Bush".
When you look at the Liberal platform of: 1. Higher Taxes 2. Higher Taxes 3. Socialist Agendas 4. Abortion 5. Environmental whackoism 6. Higher taxes It's a very sad state of affairs and Eddie is leading the charge. |

I come from Ny and I see this sate going the same route as NY did. NY city destroyed NYS. If PA doesnt wake up it will be destroyed by Philadelphia. You can see the start of it. high taxes and beholded to the inner city welfare state mentality. Once it gets a grip the state is done with. It is like an octopus it grabs you and strangles you till you are dead.
ETA: The liberals come here to get away from the liberal mess they created but they are so stupid they start to create a new mess and wind up destroying the place they came to. |
