Research Research Research best way to know a candidate for any office. Someone should let the FOAC about their choice. I understand they send out a questionnaire like to know what his responses were ???? Just for shits and giggles.

That speaks poorly of FAOC. I doubt they could claim they didn't know about the SFN case...
mmmmmmmmm

doesnt jive

email Kim about it

are you an FOAC member?

usually politicians like to come to our FOAC meetings and speak to us and answer questions seeking an endorsment. Sure would be nice to ask this one some pointed questions in that enviroment.........

No, I'm not. I've looked into it, but they have a terrible meeting time (Sunday morning). Also, I've always wanted to take responsibility for my own activism. I don't latch onto any group until I'm really, really comfortable with their direction.

If the Charlie Jones endorsement is accurate, then it's a disheartening development.

I would say if you want to influence the direction of a group you should get involved in steering it

as for Sunday mornings, well, I wont go into any kind of lecture on not getting involved due to inconveniance. I miss a lot of meetings. But membership is only $10/year, and I put together fundraisers, and answer the call and hit doors for canidates I approve of. There is A LOT you can do that doesnt involve one Sunday morning a month.

Nope... I get a page not found... or rather "Oops! This link appears to be broken." This is killing me!

I've talked to FOAC's Kim Stolfer, and found out the site and his email seem to be constantly under attack by anti-2nd Amendment nuts. Especially around voting time.

Hope the site is back up, since I too, am endorsed by FOAC.

Remember, get out to vote, and bring a friend too!!!

I printed out the FOAC Zone 5 .pdf to hand out in my store...

For some reason, I've had a hard time finding information about the upcoming elections online.

Are Jack Panella and Joan Orie Melvin the only ones running for the Supreme Court?

Guys,

I got a response from Kim Stolfer just a few minutes ago, I hope the response helps everyone in making an informed decision. He did cite a reason for not getting back to me sooner, but asked me not to make that information public. The only portions of the messages I've edited are those which pertain to that information.

Here's my original email to him:

Quote:
Kim,

xxx (ChamberedRound) from the PAFOA here. I was looking at your Voter's Guide for this election, and wanted to know why you haven't endorsed Sallie Mundy for Superior Court Judge. I ask because there's a discrepancy between your recommendations for Superior Court and the NRA-PVF recommendations on her, one which I like to understand before making a decision on who to vote for. In addition, I'm sure some of our other members would also be interested as to why you have not endorsed a candidate recommended by the NRA.

In addition to the discrepancy between FOAC and the NRA with respect to Sallie Mundy, some of our members are now also concerned about the Zone 3 recommendation of Charlie Jones for the Lebanon Court of Common Pleas. Charlie Jones was "less than supportive" in the case of late Meleanie Hain (PAFOA user SheFearsNothing) and her appeal of her LTC. See here for more information on the Meleanie Hain issue (it's actually in the same thread on our site as the Sallie Mundy discussion):

http://forum.pafoa.org/pennsylvania-...ember-3rd-page
3.html#post954423

Again, I understand the the days running up to an election are busy, but if you can give me something to get back to our members with, I would appreciate it. I also think it would behoove your organization to do so; while some are willing to accept that local organizations may not always agree with the NRA for various reasons, the issue with the FOAC endorsing a judge who was in disagreement with a local activist is making many question the validity and accuracy of the vetting process the FOAC puts candidates through.

Thanks in advance for any information you can provide on this.

Regards,
xxx
and his response:

Quote:
xxx,

First to answer the Sally Mundy question, she has ignored repeated requests to answer our questionnaire including in person requests (actually handed two questionnaires) at RSC (Republican State Committee) meetings. This is not a good sign of her position on issues unless she is getting bad advice from her campaign staff. As for the NRA endorsing her well only they can really answer that but considering their past endorsement issues, especially on judges, there are probably political alliance factors at work here rather than decision making based on philosophy.

Also another point is that the NRA has omitted any reference to the PA Supreme Court race. Very little mention of this in the other thread considering the importance of this race to gun owners. Hmmm, wonder why?

Most gun owners have NO IDEA how difficult it is in off year elections to get information on candidates from 67 county bureaus of elections and then the state as well! THEN the research begins on the hundreds of candidates in county wide offices and this involves thousands of hours of work.

As for Charles Jones and his endorsement this is a perfect reason for gun owners to provide input to us whenever possible. First there is nothing to connect him to Melanie’s case in his questionnaire and with this being a common name the likelihood of this being the same person did not jump out at me/us. IF it had been brought to our attention that this was the same individual we would have publicly ‘yanked’ his endorsement through the media and every other avenue open to us. This is something we have done in the past and WILL do again when circumstances warrant. MY ‘personal’ question is why hasn’t anyone brought this to my attention ‘until’ now? You see he was on our primary voter’s guide over 6 months ago (see the attached). I would have PERSONALLY verified this and then taken action to remove him.

xxx, I am a perfectionist and I HATE making mistakes more than you can possibly know BUT I recognize that I/we will make them (what human doesn’t?) and can only pledge to do our best to rectify them if it is in any way possible. Every mailing I send out I ask for help and guidance from those gun owners in areas of PA that have specific issues like Charles Jones and that offer and plea is open ended! We MUST work together better than we have thus far and that is also one of my personal goals. My e-mail is on line as are my phone numbers and I invite people to contact me when any issue comes up.

My apologies again for the delay in getting back to you and I hope I have explained the issues adequately.

Kim Stolfer
