While I had him on the line, I took a shot and asked him about the current status of this debacle and what he knew about it officially. He was very aware of it and the apparent attitude of ATF is that in fact, the PSP is doing what we all have been saying they have been doing. So, even though they aren't doing anything about it at a Federal level, they agree that the PSP is violating state laws and have reinterated that nothing changed in the FFA either. He is planning to discuss this personally with a PSP higher up at a seminar he is giving them later this month. In the meantime, I've been told that several congressmen, names not given to me, have taken the PSP to task for this. The consensus at Pittsburgh ATF is that this will go away if not by the end of the year, shortly thereafter thanks to the pressure being placed on the PSP by the politicians involved. There is no known move afoot to change the Pennsylvania law reflecting the black rifles.

So, we stay tuned.........
It's always good to hear the ATFs stance on this but really there really isn't anything that they can do about it other than talk to the PSP. This is a State issue and not a Federal issue.

Its definitely good if the ATF did put pressure on the PSP to stop this because what they are doing is blatantly wrong. I really do hope that people at the PSP lose their job over this.
