OK, your right. I just hope that most don't vote for Casey since he is a raciest.

I believe South park had it right when they had to vote between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich....

That's pretty much the choice we've got here...

In this country anyone who stands up for what Christanity represents they are radicals. I guess I am a christian radical. I will never condem any man for sin because I have plenty of my own. That is between me and my maker. I thank god he gave his son jesus to stand in the gap for my failure. If the country continues to put their trust in politicians you will always be dissappointed. They are bad people. If they were not we would not have the mess we have today. The bible says dont put your trust in kings. The problem with this country is that they have helped exhault the politician to a god like place. look at how people cry to gov for help. there is nothing wrong with helping people in need but when you want to do nothing and have the gov be your god then we have an issue.

back to the point of my post. In this election you have 2 choices. Dem or rep. The dems are far left out of reality nut jobs. The rep are 1/2 that. IMHO we are better with 1/2 a nut job then a whole one.

The trouble is that Christianity is being used as a tool to promote hate. It is a shame but it forces good people to fight Christianity to protect themselves. The laws that the Radical Christian Right are pushing against gay marriage are a good example. Not allowing gays to marry does not do the country any good. I is strictly a religion pushing it's law's on the public for no other reason than to show it's power.
We have families with two and three children, each with a different father. We have a 50% divorce rate. These a real problems, yet nothing is being done about it. Jesus said marriage is final yet since the majority of Christians don't want to be tied down to one spouse they search the fine print to find the 'loopholes' in the Bible to allow divorce.
Remarriage after divorce is Adultery. Pure and simple. We as a nation endorse adultery by allowing remarriage. Where are the Christian leaders while this is going on? They know better than to say anything since it will hurt their collection plate.

The Christian leaders claim from one side of their mouths that we gays are only less than 3% of the population. And from the other side of their mouths they claim we will destroy marriage by allowing us to marry.

You and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum. You make some real valid points. The thing is that you are looking at these people that you mention(christians),They are living in sin. They are not following the teachings of Christ. Which is a very easy thing to do as a human being. I will not go into is gay marrage right or wrong. There is a bible in every hotel room and in most homes. The book describes exactly how we should live. If we choose to ignor it or just struggle with it because we are basicly incapeable to do it without gods help thats another story.

Just to point out what exactly the bible wants us to do is to surrender to christ. All of us cannot live the godly life without god. The jewish law was to show us we need jesus. The true savior. So when you see christians doing wrong they are in the natural. They are not living in the spirit. Mans natural way is evil. Remember that. When you see things happen it will answer a lot of questions of WHY!

The problem with modern christian zealots is that they push out Jesus's message of love and acceptance for the old testament fire and brimstone....

The old testament shouldn't even be part of a real christian bible... Yet we have so many that seem to only preach from this part of the bible. They preach what "god" said in the old testament and completely ignore what Jesus said in the new...

All you religious zealots should really take a step back and read and understand the new testament... The stories of Jesus and get the REAL message...

I don't want this to become a Christ Bashing thread. I am both a Gay and a Witch. However I still call Jesus a friend. Witch's write there own Bible called a Book of Shadows. In it we write our own religion. Most Witch's I know have a lot in their books that came from the Christian Bible.
Thomas Jefferson once said that finding the word of God in the Bible is like finding pearls in a pile of manure. We feel much the same. We often joke that we steal the best of all the other religions.

The point I was making was that Christianity was being used as a tool to promote the hate. The kids that taunted me in school had been taught that I was 'sick' or 'evil' in my ways which made it 'all right' to taunt me. The punks on the street who picked up pipes to come after me because I am Gay were taught that also. They knew God felt that way about me so it was OK to bash me. I served as a Navy Corpsmen with the Marines. I earned the Purple Heart. I got kicked out of the Navy because the Christians don't believe I should be allowed to serve MY Country. MY Country, Dammed!

We are not fighting Jesus or any religion. We are fighting the TOOL.

Take back your religion and stand up to your preacher the next time he talks about Gays and point out to him that there are worse things in the eye's of God. And that is worse in God's eye's to discriminate against Gays.

huh.. I always thought those books were there in case the kids ran out of rolling paper....

Seriously though, I was raised a christian, went to catholic school, and did all that nonsense until I got old enough to realize it was... well... non-sense. (IMHO)

Im not trying to pick up a fight, and believe me, I dont want to insult your beliefs or faith..

but why do hardcore Christian fascits belive gay marriage will ruin society..
yet, priets ass-raping little children wont?

Why not convince the church to help make a better world, instead of telling people in poor countries to not use birth control, or even condoms!!!???

Why should I be forced to live my life by a book... that was written, re-written, and edited by men.

To get back on point... This is why so many people are having a hard time deciding who to vote for... Santorum is clearly in with the religious right, and the prospect of Casey is frightening on several levels...

Those are our choices since there is no strong 3rd candidate to speak of this election...

The reality is that if a strong libertarian candidate were out there I'd vote for them in a heartbeat.

Like I said before, the choice is between a Giant Douche and a turd sandwich...
