Default State court again strikes down Philly gun laws

Pa, Supreme Court successfully challenged an assault weapons ban enacted by the city of Philadelphia. A 6 to 1 ruling by a state appeals court today tossed out two gun-control measures approved by City Council last year and signed by Mayor Michael Nutter. Whooo another win for the good guys..I hope this will teach these cities they can't make up the own laws because there DA's and the prison systems don't do their jobs in putting criminals in jail!

i agree she should worry about getting the illegal guns off the street not the one legally purchased by any person and also worry about keeping people who need to be in prison to be kept there without parole

They don't need to worry about "illegal" guns. They need to worry about locking up bad guys for the length of time they are supposed to be, and charging them with the acts they committed, not something three grades lower. Bad guys can't use guns if they are in jail....

Moronic.

Since, despite their unconstitutional-and-illegal gun laws, they haven't controlled crime, why doesn't Philthadelphia try the exact opposite?

Why not take the Kennesaw, GA approach, and insist that every Philly citizen be REQUIRED to own a firearm?

Perhaps that'd be too much power in the hands of private citizens. Or perhaps that would allow Philly folks to realize that they should try to do things for themselves instead of relying on government to provide their daily protection or any of their other needs for that matter.

Felons are prohibited from owning a firearm, therefore if Philly passed a must own a firearm law, then 2/3 of the residents would have to move out of the city.
That's fine as long as they go to Jersey, but unfortunately, it's more likely they'd just infest other parts of PA.
